SAN FRANCISCO : Despite all the drama in Britney Spears’ life, the pop star’s popularity doesn’t seem to wane.
“Britney Spears” was the most popular search term on Yahoo for the fourth year in a row – her seventh time at the top in the last eight years, and it sure isn’t going to be her last.
The “Baby One More Time” singer who turns 27 on December 2, has had an exceptional year, winning a record three awards at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, two of the top prizes at the MTV Europe Music Awards and most recently voted Best International Pop Star at the Bambi Awards in Germany.
She just released her sixth album “Circus” on Monday and has been on a mini promotional tour across Europe.
Coming in second on Yahoo’s top 10 list was World Wrestling Entertainment, an organisation that stages theatrical professional wrestling events, followed by US president-elect Barack Obama.
“Hannah Montana” star Miley Cyrus and the online game “RuneScape” ranked fourth and fifth respectively.
Japanese manga series “Naruto”, TV show “American Idol” and actresses Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan, and Angelina Jolie rounded out the top 10 list.
